Miniature Light Bulbs

We often take advantage of the miniature light bulbs that illuminate those neat little devices you carry around. For example, watches that are backlit may likely have miniature light bulbs that do the job. Older vintage signs used miniature reflective lamps, especially moving message signs, which scroll words and move sentences with style.

Miniature light bulbs can be found in dozens of different types, varying in shape, base type, voltage and wattage. Bayonet, flange, screw base and slide base are just a few common examples of base types. Just like regular sized light bulbs, miniature light bulb shapes range from S-11, a bulbous shape, or slim fitting, like the T-2 shape.

Where to Find Miniature Light Bulbs

Some of these may not be found as often anymore because of advanced technology, such as the development of electroluminescent backlighting to replace bulb backlighting. But the fact that miniature light bulbs are oftentimes less expensive to produce and use makes them a sensible source of lighting.

Miniature lights are oftentimes not available in your local drugstore or grocery store. Your best bet is to contact a store that specializes in light bulbs. Contact your retail source about the availability of the miniature light bulb you are looking for.
