Wall Light Fixtures

If you've decided to take the plunge and enhance your living space with wall light fixtures, there are a few tips to keep in mind to maximize the beauty of your light fixtures. First of all, you need to measure the wall upon which you will be mounting your fixtures. If you space your fixtures too far apart, their lighting effect will be minimal and they may even look out of place. It is a good idea to space light fixtures about five feet apart on the wall.

Another thing to consider is at what height to mount your wall light fixtures. You want to mount them low enough that the light will fall on objects in the room below, yet high enough that your eye will not see the bare bulb or wiring of the lighting fixture. The easiest way to figure out this height is to mount them slightly above eye level.

Maximize the Potential of Your Wall Light Fixtures

Wall light fixtures that are too bright can create a visually harsh and uncomfortable environment. It is a good idea to use lower wattage bulbs in your wall fixtures so they do not overpower other light fixtures or create glare on the television screen or around other workspaces.

A good way to maximize your control over the mood created by your wall light fixtures is to wire them up to a dimmer switch. This will allow you to maximize the light output when needed, and tone it down to create a more soothing, relaxed atmosphere.
