Anti Fatigue Floor Mats

Business owners commonly use anti-fatigue floor mats to support workers who are required to stand for long periods or walk around to complete their tasks. Employers are constantly on the lookout for ways to improve the health and reliability of their workforces. Experts suggest that underfoot matting is a major factor in preventing accidents and injuries due to work induced, bodily strain.

In particular, standing in one place for hours each day can have disastrous effects on a person's health. Many people develop lower back and leg pain, varicose veins, and neck pain. Since blood has a tendency to pool in the lower extremities during long periods of standing, many people complain of swelling in the legs and feet as well.

Many countries have regulations in place to help ensure the safety of workers in all fields. This means basic health and safety measures come in handy when workers are required to perform dangerous tasks, like using power tools. In these instances, workers are often required to wear gloves, protective eyeglasses and other gear to protect their bodies.

Ergonomic Workplaces

But workplace design also has been known to have a positive effect on overall safety. Efforts to promote ergonomics in work areas have led to a marked decrease in work related accidents. These include supportive floor surfaces, and appropriate layouts for working that don't require awkward postures or movements. For example, many workers use stools so they can adjust their posture when they feel like it, resting one foot and then the other.
