Moving Truck Companies

Moving truck companies are not all alike, so it pays to do your homework when looking for movers. Among the many things to take into consideration, size emerges as a front-runner. Although it is not necessary for you to go with a large national company, it is important that the company you choose is equipped to do the job. A smaller company runs a greater risk of being delayed in either pick up or delivery.

At first glance, it might seem near impossible to figure out if your company is "big enough" for your job. However, it is not as tough as you might think, and with just a little legwork, you can gain a lot of peace of mind. The first thing to do is figure out what you need. This may include packing, storage, or long distance moving services.

Choosing Among Moving Truck Companies
Once you know what you need, you are in a position to evaluate potential moving truck companies. The main thing to focus on is how many trucks and drivers a given moving company has. If they say they do 50 interstate moves a week, but only have one truck and driver you can tell that something is not quite right.

Similarly, you can look up their DOT number and find their "percent out of service" records for both trucks and drivers. If their record is well below the national average, you might want to think twice. The last thing you want is to have no one show up on your moving day because someone is sick or a truck is out of commission.
