Moving Van Lines

Moving van lines do much more than simply cart your stuff from one place to another. They move your life, and in some cases, your livelihood. Most people in the industry are honest, hard-working folks who are genuinely interested in helping you experience a successful move; however, a minority of businesses continues to leave a black mark on the moving business.

The tale of moving fraud is essentially the same: A mover quotes someone a surprisingly low price. He or she then picks up that person's belongings, and may indicate that there are additional charges for stairs, narrow streets, or some such thing. These may or may not be nominal fees. However, this is not the worst of it.

Finding Honest Moving Van Lines
At the destination site, the real trouble begins. Movers may hold belongings hostage until exorbitant additional fees are paid. They can refuse to take things off of the truck and instead, put your belongings in storage. As if this isn't enough, they can add insult to injury and charge you for it.

There is very little in place to regulate this practice, and it makes the honest guys look bad too. There are a number of online resources that have blacklists of moving companies that are known to scam. Although every company is likely to have a few rough spots in their history, it is well worth it to take some time to look into the moving van lines you choose.
