Packing SuppliesWritten by Linda Alexander Are you ready to move to your new residence or new office location? If you are packing for yourself, you'll need to gather some supplies. You can buy packing supplies at any shipping store or mover. Some relocation services will refer you to a good place to buy supplies. Look online for the best deals. Boxes: Your Most Important Moving SupplyBoxes are perhaps the most important packing tool you will need. If you do not have boxes, you can use large plastic containers that you store your household goods in. If you are really stuck for containers, you could carry your clothes and other soft items in trash bags. However, these offer very little protection so it's best to go with something sturdier. Cushioning materials like plastic bubble wrap and packing peanuts are also important. Have several rolls of strong packing tape available, too. You can estimate how many rolls you need by the size of your boxes and the yardage of the tape rolls. Scissors or a tape gun are vital for taping the boxes closed once you have packed them--you will need to cut the tape from the roll somehow! Finally, you will need a way to open the boxes once you are at your new location. Unpacking can be just as frustrating as packing if you have not planned for it carefully. Carry a box cutter or razor blade with you, or use those scissors to rip into the packing tape when it comes time to unpack.
