Chair CarriersWritten by Sierra Rein One of the biggest complaints heard by folding chair owners is the relative difficulty involved in transporting them by hand. Although most sports and folding lawn chairs can now be purchased with accompanying travel bags, they are sometimes unwieldy. This is especially true for handicapped people, children, and the elderly. Individuals with poor upper body strength or who are shorter in height may need a chair carrier to help them. Chair carriers are designed much like wheeled, removable luggage racks. Made of steel or another tensile metal, a chair carrier allows a rolled, bagged folding chair to become strapped to it. A set of lower wheels and an upper handle allows the chair to be pulled along the road--a task that is easier than carrying it by hand. It is important to choose a chair carrier strong enough to pull the weight of the folded chair in question. Fortunately, most folding chair manufacturers today also make chair carriers specifically designed for their products. However, most carriers are moderately shaped to accommodate most folding chairs. Incorrect Use of Chair CarriersIt is important to treat chair carriers with respect. These carriers should not be used to carry anything heavier than the folding chair, not should they ever be utilized to carry small children or infants. Doing so may cause bodily harm and, at the least, break the carrier itself.
