Automatic Insect Control Systems

Automatic Insect Control Systems are all the rage, especially with the impending threat of West Nile Virus. Mosquito control is most effective when you use prevention and adulticide; home remedies and professional insect control. Your mosquito control program should include long-term prevention such as using targeted pesticides that will only harm mosquito larvae -- in bird baths, fish ponds, and storm drains. Mosquito traps will also help reduce the number of adult female mosquitoes (the ones that bite) in your yard and garden.

Automatic insect control systems come in many forms, including propane traps that emit carbon dioxide to attract and trap mosquitoes, and automatic foggers that spray insecticide for a specific time period. With so many products now on the market, deciding which one to use can be confusing.

Choosing Automatic Insect Control Systems

Do you need 24/7 operation, or something you only use when you're outdoors? Does the product you're considering have consumable parts? After the cost of the mosquito machine, what are the costs to operate it and replace parts? Do the benefits of using insecticide outweigh the risks? Which is more cost effective for your yard? You must consider what works for you.

Finally, ask friends, relatives and neighbors what their experiences have been with the products you are considering. Chances are, if it didn't work for them, it won't work for you.
