Organic insect control is growing in popularity by leaps and bounds. The concern over the environment and pollutants is ever-present with all the diseases that are attributed to chemicals in the air and on the ground. It only makes sense that in this drive for less chemical toxicity that there would be an increase in the number of products for insect control that or environmentally friendly.

One of the organic insect control methods is using live organisms to kill mosquitoes. Perhaps the one used most often is a biological agent in the form of the mosquitofish. This particular organism eats immature mosquitoes. There are also new products that are prepared with natural pyrethrums. This is used to replace the chemical insecticides. This product is made from the dried, powdered flower of the pyrethrum daisy.

Try Organic Insect Control

Organic insect control is most effective when it is combined with environmental control. The female mosquito is the target for mosquito control. The breeding habitat for mosquitoes is in standing water that is stale or stagnant. This provides the perfect environment for the egg to exist, develop into larva, and complete the cycle of pupa to adult. Feeding in the water is essential to sustenance and growth.

Eliminating all areas of standing water will greatly reduce the need for further insect control. Areas that need to be checked include tarps over boats or cars, clogged rain gutters, saucers of flowerpots, areas around faucets that can puddle, and many other such places. Also check for low places in the lawn that does not drain well during rain or watering.
