Pool Safety Covers

A backyard swimming pool provides fun and entertainment for the whole family. It is a great way to have fun in the sun in the hot months and for families to spend time together playing and relaxing. Splashing around in your own pool is a great way to spend a hot afternoon in a safe atmosphere.

While backyard pools are a wonderful additional to any home, they can be dangerous. Left open and unattended, a swimming pool can be transformed from a recreational hot spot to a dangerous threat. Young children and animals are at risk of falling into uncovered pools where they can sustain injury and even drown.

When I was a kid, my neighbors had a pool. One day their young cousin inadvertently fell into the pool because it was uncovered. No one is certain how long he lay at the bottom, but even doctors were amazed when he was successfully revived with CPR and seemed to sustain no permanent brain damage. He was lucky, not everyone will be so fortunate.

Prevent Accidents with Pool Safety Covers

Situations like this are completely preventable. All you need is a pool safety cover. When the pool is not in use, simply put the safety cover over it and fasten it into place. This will keep children and animals from falling into the water and suffering injury or worse. Many communities have ordinances in place that require pool owners to use safety covers to prevent accidents. Even if your community does not have similar laws, there is no reason not to use a pool safety cover. It is just good common sense.
