Moving Container

If you go with a door to door storage company, make sure the moving container is secure and make sure the storage facility is secure. Theft and environmental damage are two of the most common problems associated with self storage. Every year, millions and millions of dollars worth of personal belongings kept in personal storage facilities are damaged or stolen.

What should you look for in your storage company? First of all, look to see if the facilities are enclosed, thus providing your storage container with an added level of security, meaning intruders would have to breach the facility and your container. Additionally, look to see if the moving containers are breathable which will reduce the risk of mildew and mold forming on your personal items.

Other Things to Look for in Your Moving Container

Remember, your storage units are supposed to protect your personal belongings so take time to examine the durability of these containers. How much weight can they hold? Can they withstand extreme heat? How are they designed? Is the moving container easy to pack and unpack? These are all questions you should be asking yourself and your potential storage company.

Finally, I would ask some questions about the facility's security system. How well will my things be protected? I have some incredibly important items currently in storage and security means everything to me. Is the storage facility equipped with motion sensors and video monitors? Does it have fire protection systems installed? Again, these are very valuable questions you should be asking.
