Matrix RF switches are key elements of successful networks. In fact, without a switch most networks would be unable to exist at all! A switch provides the environment necessary for a functioning network by processing incoming signals and turning them into usable data streams available to many different users.

Matrix RF switches are all about inputs and outputs. RF signals are not always usable in the form in which they arrive. Differences in cables and connections are major causes of this situation. A data stream coming in on a coaxial cable is of little use of you can't plug that cable into a computer!

Matrix RF switches are available in many different configurations. Large-scale matrix switches typically have the same number of inputs and outputs, with numbers ranging from sixteen to one hundred twenty-eight of each. One input can be sent to any output. More importantly, any one input can also be sent to all of the outputs, leading to a wide range of useful applications.

Matrix RF Switches in Practice

Switches provide the means to send the same images or pieces of data to large groups of other components. Switches can be quite useful in any setting that involves multiple video or computer screens, as the same images can be sent to any and all of the screens in question. Switches are also useful for testing other sorts of RF equipment.
