If you're looking for a way to get your internet business off the ground, you might want to consider finding a wholesaler who advertises that "we drop ship." The concept may be new to you and a little confusing, but it can be a really great way to get started or to grow your company. Let's start with the basics.

First of all, no matter what kind of entrepreneur you want to be, if you're going to sell online, you're going to need products to sell. That means you can choose one of two ways to go. You can spend your money on an inventory that you think might sell, or you could, on the other hand, spend virtually no money on buying an inventory and still make sales and profits. It all hinges on a relationship between you and a drop shipper.

"We drop ship for you" can be your ticket to a better future. If you read the above paragraph, it probably sounded a little strange that you can make sales and profits without owning inventory. Your drop shipper is actually the one who spends the money to buy the inventory, to warehouse it, and to take the risk of a product not selling. The drop shipper wants you to purchase his products, but he knows you don't want to carry an inventory.

Instead, the drop shipper will work with you by selling you the products after you have already sold them to your online customer and collected payment in advance. That's right. You establish a purchase agreement with a drop shipper who then gives you access to his catalog/warehouse of products. Your customer buys a product from you. Then you send the customer's information to the drop shipper who sells you the product at wholesale, handles the packing and shipping, and sends the product to your customer in a box bearing your name and packing slip.
