No Slip FlooringWritten by Tadashi Moody We've all done it before. Maybe it was a patch of water we didn't see on the kitchen floor. Or maybe you didn't see the spill in the grocery store aisle. A slip on the pool deck gave you a sore elbow. It may seem to some that slips and falls are minor accidents. However, slips and falls can and do have serious and even fatal consequences for people like you and me every day. Overall, more than 25,000 people go to the hospital every day due to accidents related to slips, trips, and falls. And it is the number two cause of accidental deaths in the United States, behind only automobiles. Whether you are at home in the shower, at work in an office or manufacturing plant, or shopping at a local retailer, a slip can cause much, much more pain and expense than you might imagine. No-Slip Flooring: Part of Any Responsible Home or BusinessThat is why no-slip flooring is an important part of any responsible home or place of business. Regardless of what type of flooring you have, there is likely a no-slip solution for you. Floors made of concrete, tile, granite, linoleum, quarry, wood, fiberglass, and many other materials all can be treated to increase their traction, even when wet. You just have to choose the right product for the surface you are working with. Examples of no-slip flooring solutions might include traction tape in key areas such as showers or steps, or rubber mats in areas that are frequently wet. For more elegant, long-term solutions, coatings exist that can not only enhance the look of your flooring, but reduce skidding and improve the durability and life of your flooring. Whether in a home, office or industrial setting, no-slip flooring can be beneficial and even life-saving.
