Power transducers, like other types of transducers, are also commonly known as sensors, detectors, and meters. Power meters are used to measure power of both DC and AC circuits, often with a high degree of accuracy. They convert power into a mechanical or electrical signal that can be read as a proportionate value.

Power Meters

Power transducers are often used as part of an electronic sensor that can measure electrical charge, current, voltage, and resistance. There are many different types of power meters for various forms of power measurement. Each one carries its own specifications, including power range capabilities, number of channels and settings, and type of power measured.

A voltmeter is commonly used to measure voltage in a variety of industrial applications. They are available with both analog and digital displays. Other power transducers used as sensors include ammeters, which measure current. Multimeters are also available that are capable of measuring voltage, resistance, frequency, and current, as well as other electrical properties.

Multimeters are commonly used to detect flaws in complex electrical systems. They are available with a number of special features, including battery power and digital readouts. Before selecting a multimeter or other power meter, its important to fully research all types available on the market, each of which will have its own implications for use.
