Magnet Balls

Magnet balls are spherical magnets that can be used for magnet sculptures. The best magnet balls are rare earth magnets known as NIB magnets. NIB is short for Neodymium Iron Boron, which are the metals which form the alloy that makes up these cool magnets.

The best thing about NIB magnet balls is that they are extremely strong. People are shocked when they first encounter NIBs. Their superior strength makes them really fun to play around with! I like to have a combination of shapes on hand, to use in my designs. You can easily find magnets that are round or square, shaped like rods, discs, or spheres, large or small, matte or shiny.

Buying Magnet Balls Online

I do all my NIBs shopping online. The variety is much better online than it is in most hobby shops, plus you get to buy the pieces ala carte, rather than in a set. Sets are fine, but only if they have exactly what you're looking for.

Try checking out colored magnets. These are very cool magnets which can really bring your sculptures to life! When I make sculptures, I often use a majority of silver shapes, with a few colors thrown in for contrast. It's a really lovely, warm combination, that people seem to enjoy.
