Magnetic Jewelry

Magnetic jewelry practically saved my life when I was 11 years old. I know this sounds impossible, but being 11 and not yet having my ears pierced was a very traumatic thing. Everyone else had them done and I didn't. Plus, my parents had no plans to let me get them pierced until I was 13. Well, this just didn't work with my schedule. My schedule said they should have been pierced that day.

I finally convinced my dad to go to the mall with me and take a look at available earrings. Either that, or we were already in the mall and I ran into a piercing store. Anyway, when we went in, we noticed magnetic jewelry on the check-out counter. They were very tiny magnets, one for the back of your ear and a little stud for the front. It was just enough to look like I had pierced my ears.

Having Fun with Magnetic Jewelry

You can have a lot of fun with magnetic jewelry. You can put a little magnetic earring in your nose and convince people you got your nose pierced. This is fun. It's also great for costume accents. That day at the mall with my dad, I tried to convince him to get a magnetic earring so that my mom would flip out. He didn't do it, but we laughed about it a lot.

For the craftier people out there, you can create your own jewelry with magnets. You can decorate them and make them into earrings or attach them to clothes. They are also great accessories for purses, bags or backpacks. You don't have to worry about pin holes everywhere and you can change them when you feel like. Get creative!
