NdFeB magnets are a type of rare earth magnets. NdFeB stands for Neodymium Iron Boron, which is why these powerful magnets are sometimes known as NIB magnets. NdFeB magnets have many industrial applications. In fact, most high tech gadgets and toys owe some thanks to NdFeB magnets, including headphones, computer hard drives, hand-held mini tape recorders, and the anti-lock braking system in your car.

NdFeB Magnets and Hobbies

These magnets are also often used for arts and crafts hobbies. I like to use NIB magnets to make magnet sculptures. Teachers often use them as teaching tools. They can be used to help kids learn about molecular biology, chemistry, geometry, or magnetism.

In terms of arts and crafts hobbies, it's amazing what you can do with NIBs. You can create simple, representational sculptures, like dogs, cats, or people. You can also create non-representational, geometric designs, which is a lot of fun. Some people can create truly amazing sculptures with just a handful of NIB magnets.

The easiest place to purchase these magnets is online. Look for a reputable company. A recommendation by the Better Business Bureau is a good indication that this is a trustworthy, solid company. Look for a good return policy, as well.
