An injection mold design is often used to manufacture different parts. You can create a custom design and perform injection molding by hand for smaller projects. If you need to produce mass quantities of products, an injection molding machine will be necessary.

The injection molding process is initiated with the melting of your desired material. It should be injected into a mold after a liquid has formed. After cooling, the product may be removed from the mold.

Injection Mold Design Options

There are many choices to consider for an injection mold design. For a more durable product, wall thickness should be uniform. To save money, you should make walls as thin as possible, but they should still be even all around.

If you use some angles in your injection mold design, your product will be easier to remover from its mold. Rounding the corners in your design will also minimize stress to the product. The best way to save money in the injection molding process is to make smaller products in general.
