Precision injection molding is a tool used for customizing manufactured products. There are many materials to choose from for injection molding. You can also choose any shape, size, or color for your mold design.

Precision Injection Molding Characteristics

For precision injection molding, the design is an important consideration. The product will be easier to remove from the mold if it has a few angles in the design. Corners can also be rounded to minimize stress to the product.

Wall thickness is an important factor for precision injection molding. Walls can be thick or thin, but should be even all around to prevent product failure. Weld lines should also be even and secure to prevent cracking in the material.

To perform injection molding, typically the chosen material is melted into a liquid. The liquid is then inserted into a custom mold design. After cooling is complete, the product can be removed from the mold.
