Thermoplastic Polyurethane is an elastomer that can be hard or soft. It can be used in a variety of methods for manufacturing products. It is most commonly used as a material for injection molding.

Injection molding begins with the melting of your material into a liquid. The liquid is then inserted into a mold. The product can be removed from the mold after it has cooled.

Thermoplastic Polyurethane Characteristics

Thermoplastic polyurethane has a unique combination of properties. These properties are not common for most thermoplastics in engineering. It is a desirable material because it can be manipulated into any shape or strength.

When using thermoplastic polyurethane, you can choose to designate certain properties. You can make your product so that is will resist certain chemicals or abrasions. You can also choose to make your plastic product soft or extremely strong against pressure or any harsh elements.
