Clinic Insurance

I do not mean to sound like a broken record here, but I must emphasize the importance of double checking your clinic insurance policy before making any assumptions that all is well and good. If you have purchased sports insurance for your organization, and you have all the necessary coverages, such as accident and general liability insurance, as well as crime and directors and officers coverage, you should be good to go, but there are some loopholes that you should be cognizant of prior to running a sports clinic. If you have clinic insurance, this coverage only extends to the participants that are in your sports organization directly.

However, if you conduct a sports clinic that involves members of the public that are not directly part of your organization, such activities are not covered by your plan. This being the case, you may wish to contact your agent whom you purchased the team insurance from, and inquire about purchasing additional clinic insurance that provides special coverage during the course of the clinic. This is extremely important because public participants that are coming to your clinic could potentially sustain an injury under your organization's watch, which may result in some hefty medical bills.

Don't Forget about Clinic Insurance

Unfortunately, many organizations don't realize that they may have to purchase separate clinic insurance to supplement their team insurance. A good way to avoid these pitfalls, is to buy your sports insurance from an agency that specifically specializes in sports insurance. When you purchase clinic insurance from your sports insurance agent, you are likely to get straight answers from a knowledgeable source.

However, if you were to purchase sports insurance from a regular insurance agency, you may not get the most for your money, because a regular insurance agency may not know the ins and outs of this type of insurance protection. It has happened many times in the past that organizations have had to face scary lawsuits because they had inadequate insurance and a participant became injured during a clinic. Don't let this happen to you, because the price can be more than you can possibly pay.
