When evaluating the Bar Exam, Georgia Bar Examiners use a specific process. Applicants are tested on Georgia laws and general law as well. These portions of the test are taken over a two day period.

Criteria in Grading for Georgia Bar Examiners

Georgia Bar Examiners will first grade the Georgia portion of the exam. It is comprised of four essay questions and a Multistate Performance Test. This portion evaluates the level of competency with Georgia law.

The second portion graded is the MBE portion. It is given on every Bar Exam across the nation. It tests knowledge of general law with 200 multiple choice questions. These can be graded easily.

Georgia Bar Examiners will pass an applicant if they reach a minimum score of 270. The applicant must receive a minimum score of 115 on the MBE section to even have the essays graded. Results are typically given within three months of taking the Bar Exam.
