Material used in a New Jersey Bar Review should pertain to the format and subject matter on the New Jersey Bar Exam. There are three sections to focus on. They must be completed in the two-day period given for the Bar Exam.

Information to Focus on in a New Jersey Bar Review

The first portion to focus on in a New Jersey Bar Review is the MBE portion, or Multistate Bar Exam. It consists of 200 multiple choice questions on general law. Topics to study include Contracts and Sales, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law and Procedure, Real Property, Evidence, and Torts.

The second and third portions of the exam are given on the second day. They are the New Jersey Essay Exam and the Multistate Performance Test (MPT). There are six essay questions focusing on the six Multistate subjects. The MPT portion focuses on using and identifying portions of materials, provided in a library.

Scoring requirements on the exam should be understood and observed in a New Jersey Bar Review. A combined average score of 133 is required to pass the exam. The essay portion is 55%, the MBE is 35% and the MPT is 10% of the score. So, study time for each section may be divided by importance due to these percentages.
