Anti Static Bags

When packaging or shipping an item that needs protection from static discharge, an anti static bag should be used. The buried metal construction of the bag actually offers two levels of defense against static. This is essential for items with polycarbonate surfaces. An anti static bag should also eliminate outgassing.

Like other, more traditional bags, anti static bags can be customized. They can be imprinted with names, logos, and even designs. A printed bag can be used to display items or they can be used in delivery. They can work as advertisements whether viewed by consumers or current clients. Generally, companies will not use elaborate designs on anti static bags, because the bags serve more of a practical purpose than anything else, but some printing companies can imprint detailed images and text on them. There are also different styles of anti static bags. Some are designed for easy opening, while others are tightly sealed, and once they are opened they should not be reused.

The Cost of Anti Static Bags

Static shielding bags are generally more expensive than paper or basic poly bags. Smaller bags usually cost a little over $.10, but the largest bags come close to $1.00 each. The price will vary depending on the distributor, of course, but prices will consistently be higher than those of other products.

It is much better to spend extra money on anti static bags than to lose a product due to poor packaging. These types of bags serve a very unique purpose. The protection they lend to in-store items and items in transit can actually end up saving a business money in the long run.
