Brand RecognitionWritten by Michael Federico Brand recognition is key to the success of most companies and retailers. PR and marketing departments spend a lot of time and money trying to devise advertising schemes that will ingrain a company's name and logo into the minds of consumers. There are a number of techniques that have proven to be extremely successful. Brand music, a descendant of the simple jingle, has become prevalent on commercials and news shows. Logos have become more recognizable and have begun to appear in more ads. For a brand to become truly identifiable it must be seen often by a number of people. This presents a bit of a problem for marketing departments that do not have the finances to flood the airwaves with radio and television ads. Many companies have overcome this by using simple, inexpensive promotional tools to reach consumers. Inexpensive Items That Create Brand RecognitionMany companies, especially small retailers and restaurants, will create promotional tools that have something to do with their products. For instance, a pizza place will print up customized menus with the delivery number displayed prominently. A simple item such as this can generate a lot of business for a company. It can also be a good way for the business to inform consumers of any special deals that might be available. Customized bags have become a favorite promotional tool for retailers and businesses. Bags will generally be displayed for long periods of time while a person shops. Other shoppers will see the bag, and even if they don't run right over to the store, the color and design of the bag coupled with the store's name and logo will stick with them, and the next time they go shopping there is a good chance they will pay a visit.
