Logos On Magnets

My refrigerator is covered with refrigerator magnets. Every one of these magnets flaunts the name of some company. I couldn't tell you where I acquired a single one of these magnets, but I can tell you that I've done business with all the companies whose logos fill the surface of my refrigerator. Some of them I'll never do business with again, but I still use their nifty little magnets.

My refrigerator is a collection of corporate ads. I'm not sure who came up with the idea of putting logos on magnets, but it was a brilliant idea. Refrigerator magnets are the best type of promotional magnets you can give out to your employees and customers. Remember, one of the goals of promotion is to increase visibility. The refrigerator is one of the most used and visible items in any house, apartment or condo.

Looking at Behavior

As a marketing professional, it's smart to look at all the different elements of a person's life. Marketing involves the study of human behavior. We design marketing plans around the behaviors of our target audiences. The idea of logos on magnets is brilliant in its simplicity. It takes advantage of an integral part of everyday behavior--opening and closing the refrigerator.

That's why companies like the idea of putting logos on key chains. People have their keys on them at all times. They use their keys every single day. Examining the nuances of everyday behavior is what effective marketers and promoters do well. Are your promotional materials a result of research or assumption?
