Plastic bags serve a dual purpose for retailers. They serve the practical task of allowing customers to carry out their purchases. However, they can also double as effective marketing tools.

A retailer that is willing to spend a little extra time and money creating customized plastic bags for his shop will find that they are a great way to generate return business and to even attract new business. A bag that features a store's name and logo advertises the store to everyone who sees the bag. This simple act can remind people that they want or need something that they can find in the store that is being advertised. If a bag is eye- catching it can make a person who is unfamiliar with the store interested in seeing what it has to offer.


Designing Retail Bags

Most retailers go with plastic bags, because there are usually more options than with paper bags. They are also often much cheaper than their paper counterparts. It is easier to design customized plastic bags, as well. Bags can be found in a number of colors and designs. The use of two or more colors in a plastic bag design is extremely common, as well.

When a retailer orders customized bags he should first decide what he wants the bag to accomplish. Does he want it to grab someone's attention right off the bat, or is he looking for something more subtle? Once he knows what he wants he can go through a step-by-step design process that includes choosing a size and style for the bags. He can then decide on color, font, and any images that might be used in the design.
