As they travel, they read the text of websites, taking note when words are used more than once, what words show up in the heading, subheading, first few lines and in the meta tag. The meta tag is a kind of description of your site. If a spider hits you site and discovers that your meta tag doesn't relate to the rest of your site, it will usually disregard the meta and focus on the words that occur the most.

It's more than just creating some promotional items and tossing them around.

Marketing takes strategy. When it comes to marketing online, the strategies are a little bit different. You will want to work with companies that will list your site with search engines and optimizing in regards to keyphrases. There are plenty of companies that offer this service. You can find them by doing your own search. Compare a few and see which deal you think best suits you.
