When you are looking for a new place to live in the Southern California area and you don't want to be in the center of Los Angeles, consider San Diego. It has all of the cultural benefits that a city has to offer as well as cozy communities. Whether you want to live in the thick of things or have a white picket fence, you will be able to find it in San Diego.

San Diego also has the allure of gorgeous weather all year round. The rainy season of Southern California is technically from October to February. During that time, you will probably see rain for a total of six to ten days. Most of the time you will experience sunshine streaming through your windows in the morning. In addition, you never have to worry about scraping frost or snow off your car. The temperature is warm for most of the year.

If you have never been to San Diego and are only basing your thoughts of moving on what you have heard, you will want to take a trip to visit. When you go, drive around with the mentality that this will be your home. You will get a completely different view than if you were merely going to visit. As you look with your real estate agent, ask questions about local doctors, dentists, hospitals and anything else that interests you. San Diego has very distinct communities, each with a very different flavor.

Mortgage Companies to Stay away from

When you have finally committed to moving to San Diego, you will need to find a mortgage company. There are many to choose from. When you are looking, steer clear of any company that encourages you to commit fraud by asking you to say that your purchase is for business. This action means the company doesn't have to provide a "cooling off" period when you are legally allowed to cancel your contract. Sites that offer access to lenders will often have advice on choosing the right type of loan, whether fixed or adjustable rate.
