Frontline Flea Control

Pet owners have many choices when it comes to flea control, but the choice of most vets is Frontline flea control. Frontline is different from some products in that its active ingredient is stored under the animal's skin in the oil glands. This makes it long-lasting and waterproof. Pet owners need only apply it once a month for effective protection against flea infestation.

Convenient and Effective Flea Control

Frontline flea control is available as a liquid or spray and can be applied once a month using pre-measured packets. The active ingredient fipronil kills 100% of fleas within 18 hours and 100% of ticks within 48 hours.

It works by killing fleas at all stages of their life cycle. If the pet has adult fleas, Frontline kills them before they can lay eggs. If there are larvae and eggs already present on the animal, Frontline kills them before they can hatch and further develop. This is important because once fleas go into the cocoon stage, they are difficult to eradicate.

The active ingredient fipronil is stored in the sebaceous glands of the pet, which act as a natural reservoir. It is then drawn back out of the hair follicles, thus re-applying itself continuously for the month in between doses. This makes treatment easier and more convenient for pet owners. This product is available at pet supply stores or through a veterinarian.
