Home Inspector TrainingWritten by Seth Cotterell The California Real Estate Inspection Association, or CREIA, is widely recognized and respected as an industry leader in the state in terms of home inspector training. CREIA is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of the real estate community in California. It is a voluntary association of real estate inspectors that has been serving the California real estate community for nearly 30 years. California Real Estate Inspection Association's Focus on EducationEducation is one of CREIA's major priorities. The organization is devoted to providing real estate inspectors with the educational opportunities they need to stay current in a changing environment. CREIA requires that its members meet certain educational standards. This includes an additional 30 hours of education each year. Members earn their educational credits by attending various seminars, conferences, and classes. CREIA educates its members in order to make them the most professional, highly qualified home inspectors they can be. To further encourage the professionalism and service of its members, CREIA also sets forth strict guidelines concerning ethics and practices. Members must of course meet federal and state codes and regulations, but they must go beyond that in CREIA. CREIA standards are above and beyond what are outlined by the government. CREIA standards and ethical codes are so strict, home buyers and sellers feel incredibly confident in their services and report high levels of personal satisfaction in their dealings with CREIA members. Feedback from clients is, in general, upbeat and positive. Home inspectors with CREIA membership are professional and extremely well qualified to handle any situation that might arise.
