With a burgeoning market in San Luis Obispo County, more and more homebuyers are looking into Morro Bay real estate. Right on the coast halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, Morro Bay is an active fishing village with a distinct landmark called Morro Rock--a large rock formation in the shape of a hump--protruding right off the shore.

Why Morro Bay Real Estate has Grown

Although Morro Bay is a small town, it is located close to the City of San Luis Obispo, and less than a four hour drive from two major metropolitan areas. Those interested in a serene town with endless natural beauty have developed stronger interest in Morro Bay real estate. This little beach city is extremely ideal for purchasing a summer home!

Residents enjoy many outdoor recreational activities--especially in the water--such as sailing, surfing, kayaking, and deep-sea fishing! Other activities include biking, horseback riding, rock climbing, and hiking. With a championship 18 hole golf course, residents and visitors also enjoy ocean-side golf against gorgeous landscapes. Bird watching is also a favorite activity of Morro Bay folk.

Being so close to San Luis Obispo, all the conveniences of a larger city are just a short drive away. San Luis Obispo offers excellent dining, shopping, and attractions like the Hearst Castle--a giant estate build by William Randolph Hearst! Many who initially search in the larger city become more interested in Morro Bay real estate after discovering the beauty and peaceful surroundings.
