Orcutt Real EstateWritten by Patty Yu Orcutt real estate is considered highly desirable, located right in Santa Maria Valley part of the City of Santa Maria. Santa Maria and Orcutt have a combined population of more than 100,000 people. The location is incredibly convenient to both San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara, as well as located about halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Considered a more metropolitan area of Central California, Santa Maria contains all the shopping conveniences one could need. The city is rich in agriculture--many of the vegetables grown in Santa Maria are shipped to Los Angeles! The growing area appeals greatly to new homebuyers, both Santa Maria and Orcutt real estate are options for those relocating or residents buying a first home. The Charming Orcutt Real EstateAlthough Orcutt is part of Santa Maria, the small town has a personality of its own. Called the "Old Western Town", much of Orcutt, especially the small downtown area, looks straight out of a Western movie. William Warren Orcutt founded the town in 1904 when he discovered oil in the town. Farming was the main commercial activity until demand for Orcutt real estate increased land costs. What makes Orcutt such an appealing town is the beautiful land and quieter setting with a family-life philosophy. The more metropolitan Santa Maria has everything Orcutt residents may need outside of what the small community can offer. The preserved Orcutt history makes it a charming small town that is so conveniently located to both San Luis Obispo County and Santa Barbara County.
