San Luis Obispo County Houses

In recent years, the demand for housing in San Luis Obispo County has risen dramatically. It's certainly easy to see why. Located in California's picturesque central coast region, the area offers a charming, relaxed lifestyle in its many small oceanside villages. Yet it is halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, with easy access to both metropolitan areas.

The region is still relatively undeveloped, which means that significant bargains may be found. As the demand increases, of course, those bargains will become fewer. For now, however, both homes and land are reasonably priced, as well as commercial properties.

An Excellent Area for Families

San Luis Obispo County has a relatively young population. That means that the residents are particularly interested in maintaining the quality of their schools, as well as parks and other facilities for families. There are also many recreational opportunities offered by the varying geography, which includes hills, mesas and mountains, as well as the beach.

Those recreational offerings also make it a good place to retire. In addition to the wide range of activities, San Luis Obispo County also offers a mild climate, protected from the fog of other areas. Because of the rich alluvial soil, much of the area is given over to agriculture, including avocado and lemon groves, vegetable farms and commercial nurseries. High-rises are rare, as are urban ills. But parks, golf courses, beach communities and beautiful homes are easy to find in SLO.
