Become A Real Estate Agent In FloridaWritten by Kathleen GagneYou can become a real estate agent in Florida fast using online prep and pre-licensing courses and live or online support. Obviously, the main advantage of taking the 63-hour required course online is that you will be able to go at your own pace. Instead of attending classes somewhere else or missing your current job while you're trying to become a real estate agent, you can take the course in the evenings and on weekends, and you won't have to wait for someone else to schedule your time. How to Become a Real Estate Agent in FloridaThe process that allows you to become a real estate agent in Florida is fairly simple. First you must meet some basic requirements. You must be at least 18 years old, and you must have either a high school diploma or its equivalent. In Florida, that equivalent is usually a GED. You do not have to be a Florida resident or even a US citizen to become a real estate associate in Florida. In order to become an agent, however, you must take and pass the 63-hour course noted above. You can take the course at any approved real estate school including online schools. The course and the school must be certified by the Florida Real Estate Commission. The required state exam is given by Promissor, Inc., at fifteen locations throughout the state. In order to pass, you must have a score of at least 75 out of the 100 questions correct. Apply to Become a Real Estate Agent in FloridaOne piece of good advice regarding your real estate license is that you should apply for your license the same day you sign up for or begin the pre-licensing course. Your application must include a fingerprint card and a check for $152. The state exam that you will take at the end of the course costs $31.50. The good news is that the exam is completed using a touch-screen computer, and it is scored immediately so that you will know by the time you leave the exam whether or not you passed.
