Keep your eye peeled on Boca Raton MLS listings if you're ready to trade in shoveling snow for balmy tropical breezes. There's a good reason that the Creeks fought so hard for their land during the Seminole Wars of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. From the Spanish who landed in 1513 to the Casula and Creek already there to the Huguenots to the English, everyone relishes the temperate climate, lush vegetation, and wonderful Atlantic beaches.

About Boca Raton MLS

The first Boca Raton MLS property ever officially listed as such was not built until 1895. That was the year that Henry Flagler's railroad came through Boca Raton on its way to Miami. South Florida then opened to development and has been extremely popular ever since, and with good reason. Interestingly, it was only 50 years before--in 1845--that the peninsula had become the 27th state, despite more than 300 years of tumultuous colonial history leading up to it.

You will not find any beachfront Boca Raton MLS listings. The last five miles were sold to the city in 1994 and subsequently developed as Ocean Strand for the benefit of residents and visitors alike. The 27.2 square miles of Boca Raton offer countless other fine houses, however, which have the advantage of being slightly less buffeted by ocean winds, that you'll delight in calling home.

There are any number of reasons to select Boca Raton, as you'll learn from the relocation materials your real estate agent will certainly provide. Among them are the many nearby Florida getaways--Disney, Epcot, the Everglades, Lake Okeechobee, and the National Key Deer Refuge, to name a few within easy reach. But for many people moving in from out of state, the beautiful beaches and year round pleasant temperatures are more than enough.
