Florida real estate license requirements are simple and straightforward. In order to become a licensed real estate associate in the state, you must be at least 18 years of age, and you must have received a high school diploma or a GED. You must also complete the required 63-hour pre-licensing Florida sales associate course and pass the final exam.

Other Florida Real Estate License Requirements

Once you have completed the above course work, you must also submit an application to the Florida Division of Real Estate, along with the applicable fees. Finally, you must pass the state real estate licensing exam with a minimum of 75 correct answers out of 100 questions.

There are some exceptions to the general Florida real estate license requirements. If, for example, you are an attorney and a current member of the Florida Bar or if you have a four-year degree in Real Estate, most of the requirements are waived. Also, if you are a licensed real estate professional in any of the ten states with which Florida has a reciprocal agreement, you may apply for an exemption to the requirements.

Meeting Florida Real Estate License Requirements

You can take the 63-hour pre-licensing course from a number of schools throughout the state. You may also completed the course work online, again, making sure that the course is FREC approved. Whether you choose online or live classes, your school will provide you with the documents you need as well as instructions on where to take the state exam and how to apply for your license.
