Homes In South FloridaWritten by Helen Glenn Court You can't do too much better than investing in homes in south Florida. Whether as a place to retire, a town to raise a family, or a property for rental, real estate is always a good choice. The market is strong these days in many parts of the country, and homes in south Florida are no exception. If you think about the amenities, this will come as no surprise. After all, you're surrounded by the lush tropic vegetation of the coastal lowlands, encircled by 600-plus miles of beautiful white sand beaches, and enveloped in a year-round temperate climate. Rains fall mostly in the summer, frost goes down in the record books, and hurricanes come to homes in south Florida no more frequently than to any others along the eastern seaboard. This is a marvelous and exciting place to live, no matter what your perspective! The three primary counties on Florida's southeastern side all lie south of Lake Okeechobee and east of the Everglades. Running north to south they begin with Palm Beach (population 1.1 million), then Broward (population 1.6 million), and end with the more urban Miami-Dade (population 2.2 million). Palm Beach ranks number ten in the nation for grapefruit production, and Miami-Dade number two in the nation for snap peas. To, From, and Around Homes in South FloridaWith the Everglades and Lake Okeechobee in the southern third of the state, and central Florida offering Cape Canaveral, Disney, Epcot, and the Daytona Speedway, there are no shortage of attractions and recreational activities to enjoy. Water sports of all types are especially popular on both the Gulf and Atlantic coasts. Golf courses weave in and out of the flat lands and sea grasses, taunting players with narrow fairways and encroaching wetlands. The list goes on and on from birding tours to historical reenactments to cultural events and more!
