Defined by a relaxed hometown feel and an outstanding school system, the town of Pace offers the amenities of a larger city with few of the headaches. Convenient to the Panhandle beaches of Florida, Pace is only 11 miles from Pensacola and 8 miles to Milton. Growth in the area has boomed in recent years. The hustle of community growth, the many recreational facilities, and the wonderful temperate climate make Pace a delightful place to settle and raise a family.

Pace, Pensacola, and the Panhandle

Sitting on nine square miles in Santa Rosa County, nestled at the north end of Escambia Bay, Pace sits on Highway 90 within easy reach of Interstate 10 (about 15 miles away) and Interstate 110 (10 miles away). The Alabama state line lies about 18 miles due west. Pensacola Regional Airport is nearby. The closest international airport is in Mobile, Alabama--about an hour's drive distant (64 miles). Tallahassee's is three hours away.

With recreation and entertainment high on the priority list with the recent influx of new residents, new retail businesses, restaurants, and medical facilities are appearing as well. Parents are justifiably pleased with the schools' award-winning FCAT scores, high school band performances, and athletic standings. Fishing and boating in the Panhandle's bays and waterways are especially popular among both residents and visitors. Employment industries include education, health, and social services, followed by retail trade and construction. Eglin Air Force Base is just 20 miles southeast.

Real estate in Pace remains--for the time being--affordable. Selling prices of single-family homes today range from about $90,000 up to perhaps $500,000 in the Pace zip code (32571). In Pensacola, by way of comparison, run from about $60,000 up to $2 million. But where you might find 60 homes for sale in Pace, however, in Pensacola there might be as many as 500. Consulting a local realtor is always advisable.
