South Florida has long been a booming real estate market. If you live in that area or want to transfer there to work in the real estate industry, you will find that there are literally dozens of quality South Florida real estate schools offering the approved 63-hour pre-licensing course for real estate associates. If you meet the minimum age and education requirements, you can become a real estate professional in Florida within a very short time.

Finding South Florida Real Estate Schools

As noted above, the South Florida real estate market can be a great place to start your real estate career. Finding the right school up front is very important. You can, for example, attend a school offered by a national or local real estate corporation, and, in some cases, this could mean a position with a particular company. There are also South Florida real estate schools that are conducted by real estate associations and colleges.

One key consideration when you are thinking about which direction is right for you is finding a school that will be convenient for you as well as being available at a reasonable cost. In Florida, you have a choice of live classes, online courses, and even CD-ROM based courses. All of these formats include courses that are approved by the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC), and you should only take a course that meets that requirement.

Criteria for Selecting South Florida Real Estate Schools

If you already have a job and have limited time to study, the location and class schedules of any school you are considering is very important. Consider travel time as well as class time. Live classes offer the advantage of interaction with an instructor and other students and can be a good choice if you are not a good self starter. Online courses offer the advantage of determining your own schedule as well as saving travel time. Most online courses give you up to one year to complete the course, but you can finish much faster than that. Remember to consider cost. Prices can vary by hundreds of dollars, so it's a good idea to shop around online before making your selection.
