Henry County is the fourth fastest growing county in the United States and it's easy to see why. It's home to quaint little towns and cities, such as McDonough and Stockbridge, and has many cultural activities available, such as the Henry Players. Henry County is also home to the Atlanta Motor Speedway, where you can enjoy a more fast-paced life. It's also home to countless parks and recreation sites available to the public.

When Henry County was established in 1821, it covered a vast area in Georgia. In May of that same year, Henry County was divided into five smaller counties: Fayette, Houston, Dooly, Monroe and Henry. Because it was the original county of the area, Henry County is called the "Mother of Counties."

Real Estate in Henry County

There are many outstanding areas in which to live in Henry County. Almost every need can be met, making Henry County a destination for those trying to escape the hustle and bustle of nearby Atlanta. Before deciding which Henry County community to settle in, check your surroundings and see if your needs will be met.

If you've got children, check out the proximity of the schools to your home. You'll have to go there a lot, so you don't want it to be very far away. Also research how close the nearest park is, where a convenient movie theater will be and how close the grocery store is. These may all seem like obvious concerns, but when caught up in the excitement of buying a home, even the simplest things can be forgotten. Be sure to create a checklist before going to view any home so that you won't have to stress about trying to remember every detail of the home after you've viewed it.
