Kaanapali is a luxurious resort comprised of elegant condos, shops, and restaurants. Kaanapali 2020 is a 1,154-acre community that will be built over the next 30 years. Moderately-priced homes are included in the master plan. Residents of these separate villages will be able to live, shop, work and play within the confines of the villages. Also in the plans are schools, golf courses, and a medical and cultural center.

Other Maui Projects

Wailea is another Maui resort, but more low-key and secluded than Kaanapali. Situated on sunny South Maui shores, Wailea 670 will be a complex of 1,400 single-family and multiple-family residences. Included in the master plan are five commercial complexes, each 100,000 square feet, that will provide services and stores so residents will not have to go elsewhere for shopping or personal business.

Piilani Gardens in Kihei is a rentals-only apartment complex that eventually will have 200 units. Just a short drive from Wailea and the Maui High Tech Park, it also has an onsite child daycare center, and is across from the Piilani Village Shopping Center. Besides alleviating the housing problem for locals who live and work on Maui, these Hawaii new homes projects will also provide a broader population mix. Mainland Americans and people from other countries who want to live on the islands will more easily find lower-priced Hawaii new homes.
