Massachusetts real estate listings contain some of the oldest properties in the United States. As we all know, the Pilgrims landed on Plymouth Rock and established the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1685. They brought with them the architectural influences of their homeland. Many of the properties you see today in the great state of Massachusetts are a reflection of these first settlers.

Massachusetts is an interesting place to buy or rent real estate because of the variety of properties available. There's Colonial, Federal, Victorian and Contemporary architecture gracing the city. Whatever your preference, it's available in Massachusetts. Other states are restricted to a small range of styles and periods when it comes to real estate. Massachusetts real estate listings contain it all.

Massachusetts Real Estate Listings Conceived by Great Architects

Charles Bulfinch was one of the first natively born architects in the United States. In Boston, Bulfinch was regarded as more than an architect. He helped Boston make the gradual transition from colonial town to city government. Bulfinch was chairman of Boston's board of selectman for all but four of the 26 years between 1791 and 1817.

He functioned largely as an unpaid mayor, managing police and fire services, and for the first time providing private development interests with public direction. During these years Charles Bulfinch married, started a family, and was an active Unitarian Universalist. Massachusetts real estate listings are loaded with properties influenced by this man's style and vision. There is no other state in the union that provides home seekers with this kind of variety.
