Whether you're buying or selling a home in North Carolina, you will need to comply with numerous regulations. You will need to negotiate a sale price, take or make a deposit, and record transactions. You will also have to understand about prorated property taxes, escrow payouts, and finding an appraiser, a title company, and a surveyor. Did we mention that you will have to know which forms to use and what constitutes a legal sale document?

There are do-it-yourself packages around, but buying or selling a home is far too important, not to mention expensive, to trust to a novice. Unless you have a really great feel for all of the above, you will want to engage the services of a North Carolina real estate company to buy or sell a home in that state. Doing so generally eliminates about 90 percent of the stress and 60 percent of the time it would take you to do it all on your own.

Real Estate Companies

North Carolina real estate companies have all the knowledge you will ever need about real estate transactions. Their agents usually know more about local real estate and neighborhood trends than you could find out in a year. And it's their job to make the process as smooth as possible for their customers! What more could you want?

If you're going to work with a North Carolina realtor, you will have to make some decisions. For example, if you are a buyer, you would need the services of a buyer's agent. This can be an exclusive contract, meaning that the agent will represent only your interests in any negotiations and in all facets of your home search right up to the closing. Some states allow realtors to act on behalf of both a buyer and a seller in a transaction. If this is the case, you need to be very clear on what the realtor will be bound by the contract to do for each side. Remember that the right realtor can make your home buying experience a breeze, so ask questions and make sure you understand the answers.
