A real estate broker needs to have strong social skills to be successful in this career. Much of a real estate broker's typical day is spent networking and negotiating. Real estate brokers must be sensitive to the needs of both property owners and prospective buyers. A real estate broker often works nights and weekends in order to meet with clients, show a property to prospective buyers, and answer questions about the purchasing process. Real estate brokers also develop relationships with mortgage lenders, attorneys, and contractors by referring their clients to these individuals.
