Coppell is small, so it relies on the town of Lewisville, five miles away, for a range of really first class amenities. These amenities include a number of medical centers. There are no less than seven large colleges with over 2000 students within 18 miles of Coppell. Some are as close as four miles. There is one public high school in Coppell, with a choice of 10 public elementary schools and three middle schools.

Many opportunities exist for recreational activities in Coppell. Boating, swimming, biking, skiing, hiking, golf, tennis, and picnicking can all be pursued from within Coppell. Other activities are quite close by in Dallas. For those who love music, for example, the Dallas symphony orchestra is a short drive away and among the best in the world.
