Millions of people have a passion for fishing. Some people go as far as quitting their six-figure jobs to live simpler lifestyles in places where they can fish whenever they want. Padre Island, a barrier island off the Texas Coast, is an ideal retirement or vacation spot for these people.

Gorgeous and Inexpensive Fishing Properties

The island has been blessed with perfect weather and picturesque natural beauty, but the real estate is remarkably under-priced, which is great news for fishermen. It's great to see that there are still plenty of dream homes available to the average person who wants to settle down in paradise. Thousands of happy people call Padre Island their home, and they can fish to their hearts' content.

All property on Padre Island is at least close to the water, but some people actually have docks in their backyards. Imagine waking up to a beautiful sunrise over the Gulf of Mexico and walking just 20 feet to where your boat is docked. If you're open to the possibility of living in Texas, that can be your lifestyle.

Fishing properties, or homes located directly on the water, cost more than those that do not provide direct access to either a bay or the Gulf of Mexico. Compared to many regions, however, the fishing properties located on or near Padre Island are very inexpensive. The low cost of living in this area makes the real estate attractive to retirees and vacationers who like to fish.
