Irving RealtorsWritten by Patricia Skinner There are two perspectives from which to approach the question of what makes a good realtor. Is personality more important? Or does knowledge of the area make more a difference? If the truth be known, the answer probably lies somewhere between the two. A realtor needs to be extremely sociable and outgoing. It would be difficult to think of anyone whose job brings them into contact with more people in the course of a day's work. While there are no particularly technical aspects to the real estate business, the sheer body of knowledge that the average realtor needs to carry around in their head means that agility of mind is a necessary trait. What Makes a Good Realtor?Successful realtors seem to share a trait; they are all able to keep many different facts in mind to benefit a client. At the drop of a hat they can help out with vital local knowledge such as which are the best schools (and even how their students fare in SAT scores), who is the best local plumber and carpenter, and where to go for help with your garden. They will also be able to help you out with information on mortgage professionals, and legal advice if you need it. The icing on the cake is having a realtor who can also recommend local rental accommodation, or friendly hotels and restaurants that will help you through your period of relocation. With seemingly little effort, realtors manage to steer their clients through the rigors of purchasing or selling property and moving without ruffling their feathers at all. Having someone who is so able and calm around is always a comfort to those of us who tend to get rattled when our world is going through a period of major transition.
