Waterfront Living

You find a lot of happy people in beach communities, because the residents and vacationers are exactly where they want to be. The scenery is beautiful, everyone wears shorts, and there are always plenty of attractions nearby. Waterfront living is as close to stress-free as it gets in our fast-paced culture.

Similarities and Differences Among Beach Towns

There are some things that most towns and cities located on the water have in common. For example, you'll find many unique shops in beachfront towns. Casual eateries are also common, but most cities along the coast also feature excellent seafood restaurants as well. Because so many people either visit or reside in beach towns for relaxation and enjoyment, golf courses and parks are commonplace.

A leisurely attitude may be universal among beach towns, but the activities people enjoy are different from one community to the next. Surfers will gravitate towards towns located on the ocean, whereas people who live near lakes or bays are probably more interested in watersports or fishing. A coastal city that has a harbor will be popular among people who own boats.

There's a different atmosphere in residential beach communities as compared to cities that attract hoards of tourists. Tourist cities tend to be busier because people on vacation have limited time, so they try to pack as many activities into their days as possible. People who live on the beach year round are less likely to be in a hurry. If they don't get around to something one day, they can always do it some other time.
